OUR PROJECTS

FP7: NEUROGRAFT

The NeuroGraft Project ‘Development of Functionalised Cell Seeded Bio-artificial Organ for Transplantation in Nerve Repair’ is a collaborative project funded under the 7th EU Framework Programme in the health space.

Injuries and degenerative diseases of the central nervous system (CNS) constitute a bottleneck in medical and surgical practice for which no therapy currently exists. NeuroGraft will develop stem cell seeded functionalised bio-artificial organs. This exciting concept will be realised through the NeuroGraft consortium, consisting of one academic and four industrial partners (four SMEs), across four countries.

These studies will facilitate progression to clinical trials of the technology (post-project) and the development of a marketable product within 6 years of the completion of the NeuroGraft project.

Obelis role:

  • Constant regulatory advise for the quality and regulatory compliance at every stage of development
  • Indicate the appropriate regulatory road for a successful project
  • Compile a compliant technical documentation in order to assure regulatory conformity/approval.

H2020: GLAM

The aim of GLAM project is to design and develop a new diagnostic tool to detect biomarkers from biofluids obtained in a non-invasive manner, specifically focusing to urine and to genitourinary cancers, to help oncologist to take better treatment decisions, approaching personalized medicine.

GLAM will develop an integrated device based on novel label-free photonic biosensors with ultra-sensitivity, simplicity of use, portability, multiplexing and low cost. GLAM capitalizes on the unprecedented sensitivity achieved using laser microring resonators to detect key biomarkers in tumor development and treatment. Point of Care of the device will be carried out by preclinical and clinical sample analysis of genitourinary cancer patients to warrant personalized medicine.

Importantly the GLAM unique technology will make the device also usable with other biofluids and might also be used to help physicians with other biomarker driven.

Obelis role:

  • Constant regulatory advise for the quality and regulatory compliance at every stage of development of the project
  • Indicate the appropriate regulatory road for a successful project
  • Compile a compliant technical documentation in order to assure regulatory conformity/approval.
